Prospect Potent Potables - 7/7

• It really is hard to believe that Kila Ka'aihue is still in the minors, regardless of the positional logjam the Royals have to contend with, says Jack Moore of Fan Graphs.com.
• Carlos Peguero's power has shown up this year after a difficult April, but his massive strikeout totals could eventually be a problem if he ever wants to don a Mariners' uniform, notes Guy Curtright of MiLB.com.
• The Angels promoted pitching prospect Tyler Chatwood to Double-A recently, and Mike Lemaire of Baseball America discusses the decision.
• The Blue Jays have made another splash in the international market, inking RHP Adonis Cardona, reports Tom Dakers of BlueBird Banter.com.  Cardona is a 6'4" 16-year-old out of Venezuela who already throws in the mid-90's.

Prospect Potent Potables - 6/14

• Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Daily News has quotes from scouts on a few Phillies prospects, including Anthony Gose, Michael Schwimer, Kelly Dugan and Jonathan Singleton.
• Despite being over two months into the season, Pirates IF prospect Chase D'Arnaud is still struggling to find his stroke, reports Ron Musselman of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
• Scouts will differ on which of the Braves' three young pitching studs currently stashed in the Carolina League they'd rather have, but Julio Teheran is doing everything he can to separate himself from the crowd, reports Pete Kerzel of MLB.com.
• Josh Jackson of MLB.com has his hitters and pitchers of the week for each league, including Desmond Jennings, Alex Liddi, Quintin Berry, Tyler Chatwood, Garrett Richards, and Brad Hand.
• Mike Minor discusses his development with Carroll Rogers of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
• Jesus Montero is eying the newly available playing time behind the plate for the Yankees, due to Jorge Posada's increasing time as a DH, reports Pete Cava of Baseball America.

Notable Prospect Performances - 6/12

Let's take a look at some of the best and worst performances from the guys who are allowed to use their hands...

• A pair of Angels' pitching prospects shined on Friday night, as Tyler Chatwood won his 7th straight California League game, says Daren Smith of MLB.com, and Garrett Richards allowed just one hit over 6 innings of work, reports John Parker for MLB.com.
• Orioles' 1B prospect Brandon Snyder was 2-for-3 with a homerun and two stolen bases while Zach Britton, the team's best pitching prospect still in the minors, allowed just one run in 6 innings, lowering his ERA on the season to 2.84, reports Dean Jones, Jr. of the Baltimore Sun.
• Kyle Gibson has now had two rough starts in a row, after allowing 5 ER in 5 IP on Friday night.
• Lonnie Chisenhall has been hot lately, homering in his second straight game and in three of his last four.
• Mike Moustakas hit his 14th homerun of the season in game 1 of Friday's double-header, but it is his only hit in his past 4 games.  He's still batting .345 on the season, however.
• After a hot start to the season, Padres' pitching prospect Wynn Pelzer has struggled with his command of late, walking 12 batters in his past two starts, including 5 on Friday night.
• Grant Green has been proving his 1st round worth lately, blasting his 4th home run of the season on Friday, and batting .442 over his last 10 games.
