- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have announced plans to call-up 22-year old pitching prospect Trevor Bell for Wednesday's start, reports Jim Peltz of the Los Angeles Times. Bell will be starting against the defending American League Champion Tampb Bay Rays in place of the injured John Lackey.
- Neil Walker, the Pittsburgh Pirates former top pick (2004) is searching for his role in the Pirates future, notes Colin Dunlap of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. With the emergence of Andy LaRoche as a reliable defender at third base, number two overall pick last year (Pedro Alvarez), and a new regime bringing in an influx of talent, Walker may be the odd man out.
