Prospect Potent Potables - Aumont, Harvey, Swagerty, Peguero

• Phillippe Aumont bounced back from a horrendous 2010 season to regain his status as an elite bullpen prospect, and as Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer points out, could complete his reclamation this spring by winning a spot in the Phillies bullpen.
• Mets pitching prospect Matt Harvey has added a two-seam fastball, reports MetsBlog.com.
• After moving to the bullpen last season to limit his innings, and having been a reliever in college, the Cardinals are planning to give Jordan Swagerty a chance to start this season, says Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com.
• Want to see the swing that was worth trading Michael Pineda for?  Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times has video of Jesus Montero taking cuts at Mariners spring training.
• Francisco Peguero should start the season in Triple-A, where he'll be manning right field instead of center, notes Andy Baggerly for Baseball America.  Peguero still needs to drastically improve his plate discipline and the Giants are still waiting for him to tap into his power in games.

Phillies Updates - Colvin, Aumont, May

• Phillies pitching prospect Brody Colvin is hoping to put a rough 2011 season, and his off-the-field troubles, behind him says Bob Brookover of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
• Fellow prospect Phillippe Aumont is much closer to the majors than Colvin, and should in fact see the big leagues this season according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com.
• Trevor May has struggled with his control during his minor league career, but he's working on his body control this off-season by doing yoga notes Marcus Hayes of the Philadelphia Daily News..

Prospect Potent Potables - Flores, Diamondbacks, Phillies, Petricka

• Mets SS Wilmer Flores is having a nice winter in the Venezuelan Winter League, notes Toby Hyde of MetsMinorLeagueBlog.com, after having an uninspiring regular season.
• The Arizona Diamondbacks are prepared to enter spring training with an open competition for their final rotation spot, consisting of in-house candidates, according to Jack Magruder of Baseball America.  The candidates for the final spot include Wade Miley, Tyler Skaggs, Pat Corbin, Trevor Bauer, and Charles Brewer.
• The Phillies got nice contributions from rookie pitchers last season, and Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer takes a look at which pitchers could follow the same path this year, including Phillippe Aumont, Justin De Fratus, Jake Diekman, Austin Hyatt, and Tyler Cloyd.
• The key to White Sox pitcher Jacob Petricka's development will be the progress of his off-speed pitches, says Mark Gonzales of Baseball America.

Prospect Potent Potables - Aumont, Cardinals, Pribanic

• After a back and forth season that was downright awful, Phillies pitching prospect Phillippe Aumont is being shifted back to the bullpen on what appears to be a permanent basis, reports Matt Gelb of Philly.com.  Aumont had been a reliever with Seattle but the Phillies asked him to be a starter upon arriving last season, a move which found no success.  Aumont was switched back to the bullpen in the middle of the 2010 season and now should remain there for good.
