• Paul Clemens threw 6 2/3 scoreless innings in his first start in the Astros farm system, says Robert Emrich of MiLB.com.
• Gary Sanchez blasted two more home runs, as the Yankees catching prospect continues his scorching hot bat, says Ashley Marshall of MiLB.com.
• Jake Skole recorded two hits, but it wasn't enough as run support for his Rangers teammates, notes The Hickory Daily Record.  In Triple-A, fellow Rangers prospect Martin Perez allowed just two singles through his first five innings, but got burned by five walks, according to The [Tacoma] News Tribune.
• Phillies pitching prospect Trevor May struck out nine batters in seven scoreless innings, reports David Heck of MiLB.com.
• Matt Dominguez homered on Wednesday night, but the Marlins 3B prospect was later forced to leave the game with what appeared to be a leg injury, reports Ashley Marshall of MiLB.com.

 

Prospect Action - Gindl, Skole, Friedrich

• Acting as the DH on Sunday, Red Sox catching prospect Ryan Lavarnway slugged a pair of home runs, reports WPRI.com.
• Caleb Gindl, an OF prospect of the Milwaukee Brewers, hit for the cycle, notes Andrew Pentis of MiLB.com.
• L.J. Hoes and Joe Mahoney both enjoyed 3-for-5 days at the plate for the Orioles Double-A affiliate in Bowie, according to Jeff Seidel of BowiePatch.com.
• Rangers prospect Jake Skole had a big day on Sunday, recording four RBI's and hitting a home run, reports The Hickory Daily Record.
• Christian Friedrich went a career-high eight innings in his latest start, as the Rockies LHP prospect allowed just one run, says David Heck of MiLB.com.

• Washington Nationals 2B prospect Steve Lombardozzi knocked a pair of doubles on Sunday night, says BisonsBlog.com.
• Padres pitching prospect Keyvius Sampson got off to a shaky start but rebounded to retire 12 straight hitters, reports The Grand Rapids Press.
• Jurickson Profar and Jake Skole helped lead a comeback for their that the Texas Rangers Low-A affiliate in Hickory, notes the Hickory Daily Record.
• Diamondbacks pitching prospect David Holmberg struck out nine batters but gave up five runs in 5 1/3 innings to bring his scoreless innings streak to an end, reports Andrew Pentis of MiLB.com.
• Orioles 1B prospect Brandon Snyder hit two home runs as part of a three-hit day says Jocelyn Syrstad of The Virginian Pilot. In Orioles Double-A action, L.J. Hoes stayed hot with another 3-hit day of his own, reports Jeff Seidel of BowiePatch.com.
• Rex Sox OF and former first-rounder Bryce Brentz went 2-for-3 with a home run on Sunday night notes Ashley Marshall of MiLB.com.
• Jay Jackson threw 8 1/3 strong innings and allowed just one run as the Cubs prospect earned his fourth win of the season, reports Tim Grubbs of NOLA.com.

 

Prospect Action - Surkamp, RIchards, Profar, Chisenhall

• Yankees prospect Steve Evarts allowed four hits in 6 1/3 innings of work on Friday night, reports Corbin Ensminger of The Post and Courier.
• Eric Surkamp threw six scoreless innings, as the Giants prospect fanned seven, according to the Erie Times-News.
• Angels pitching prospect Garrett Richards won his seventh straight decision, reports Andrew Pentis of MiLB.com.
• Luke Jackson battled wildness and lasted just 3 1/3 innings, notes Mark Parker of the Hickory Daily Record, but he was bailed out by the offensive performances of fellow Rangers prospects Jurickson Profar and Jake Skole.
• Indians 3B prospect Lonnie Chisenhall hit a grand slam, says Danny WIld of MiLB.com.

 

Making Moves - 6/10

• Jake Arrieta has been promoted by the Baltimore Orioles and will start Thursday night's game against the New York Yankees, reports Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com.  Welcome to the bigs, Jake.
• Brewers' catching prospect Angel Salome is now a Brewers' outfield prospect, reports Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.  Salome told the club he no longer wants to catch, so he is being sent down to A-ball to work on converting to the outfield.
• Jarrod Parker is throwing off a mound twice a week as a part of his recovery from Tommy John surgery, reports Nick Piecoro and Jim Gintonio of the Arizona Republic.  Parker and the Diamondbacks hope to have him throw in some minor league games by August.
• We have some early draft pick signings, including some first rounders...
• • The Phillies have come to terms with 1st rounder Jason Biddle, although couldn't officially sign him until after his high school graduation, tweets Matt Gelb.  Biddle will likely join the Gulf Coast League Phillies upon signing.  The Phillies also signed second round pick Perci Garner, reports Luke Adams of MLB Trade Rumors.
  • The Rangers have signed both of their first round picks, as Jonathan Mayo of MLB.com tweets that No. 15 pick Jake Skole has signed for $1.557M and Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus tweets that No. 22 pick Kellin Delgan has inked for $1M exactly.
