Any fan or sportswriter can look at the box score from Ike Davis' debut with the New York Mets and tell you that he had a good first game, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. But baseball fan's could never settle for that.
So John Perrotto of Baseball Prospectus (via ESPN.com, Insider subscription required) delved further into the small sample size of Ike's career this far, and has some good news for Mets fans: the weaknesses Davis is supposed to have in his game (according to scouting reports), were exactly what he had success with on day one.
Good (albeit early) news for an organization that could certainly use it.
