9:33 a.m. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, about as old school of a manager as you'll find in the majors today, refuses to fuel the hype machine surrounding Gordon Beckham, but as Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun Times reports, he has given us a little more information regarding Beckham's useage in the majors. As expected, the White Sox lineup will be a revolving door for a little while until Guillen finds a mix that fits, but you can bet that Beckham will be in the lineup somewhere almost evey day.
12:04 a.m. As a fitting end to what has been a busy day in the world of baseball transactions, The Associated Press is reporting that the Chicago White Sox have called up top prospect Gordon Beckham. It is unknown whether Beckham will see regular playing time at second base, short stop, or third base, but it is assumed he will be in the lineup regularly and will likely see time at all three positions.
