Video of Freddie Freeman

They said it...

"Freeman, 20, has a sweet, smooth lefthanded stroke that allows him to drive the ball in the gaps. He also has a knack for rising to the occasion by driving in runners in scoring position. Defensively, he was tabbed the top first baseman in both the high Class A Carolina and Double-A Southern leagues last year."

Bill Ballew, Baseball America - December 17, 2009

I've talked to two different scouts who think Freeman can be a batting champion who hits 20 home runs or so. The swing has some power in it and he has an excellent frame. It will not be Heyward-type power, but he's only 19 in Double-A, so the fact that he hasn't produced that kind of power yet isn't that much of a concern.

J.J. Cooper, Baseball America - August 21, 2009
