- As if we couldn't tell by the way they inexplicably kept Javier Baez in extended spring training for two months to start the season, the Cubs have verified that they are going to take their time with their first round pick from 2011, says Curt Rallo of MiLB.com. - We haven't had a chance to see Taylor Guerrieri in action as a professional yet, but the Rays have assigned the 24th overall pick from last year's draft to Hudson Valley of the New York-Penn League, so we will get to see the right-hander pitch within the next week, according to Joey Knight of The Tampa Bay Times. Guerrieri was the first of ten picks the Rays had in the top-60 in the 2011 draft, but is the only one who has yet to make an appearance.

Until his visa situation can be settled, the Giants prospect is playing in the Dominican Summer League.
