- X-Rays have come back negative on the hand of Starling Marte after he was struck by a pitch earlier in the week, reports Nancy Zinni of PiratesProspects.com. The Pirates outfield prospect will be able to pinch-run for the next few days until the swelling goes down on his hand.
- Astros shortstop prospect Jiovanni Mier will miss the next three-to-four weeks with a hamstring injury, reports Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. Mier was having a strong bounceback season in Lexington, hitting .309 with two homers at the time of his injury.
