Arodys Vizcaino, the 19-year-old right-handed pitcher the Atlanta Braves acquired from the New York Yankees this off-season as a part of the Javier Vazquez trade, has a partial ligament tear in his right elbow, reports Chris Hempson of MLB.com.
Vizcaino had been dominant in Low-A ball for the first part of the season, but upon joining fellow flame-throwing prospects Julio Teheran and Randall Delgado in High-A Myrtle Beach, his performance dipped. Vizcaino will not need surgery, but will instead rehab at the Braves' training complex in Florida and could return to throwing in six weeks.
