Just one day after his third solid performance of the spring, Stephen Strasburg was sent to Double-A by the Washington Nationals, reports Bill Ladson of MLB.com. The move is not terribly surprising given that the Nationals had implied that Strasburg would begin the season in the minors, and that being the case, the Nationals had to beat the Friday deadline to option players to the minors or risk beginning their service clock.
The Nationals also optioned fellow 2009 1st Round pick Drew Storen to Double-A.
