The Cincinnati Reds have not made a decision on the 2010 destination of Aroldis Chapman, and likely won't for some time, but they have said that wherever he ends up this year, he will be pitching every fifth day, reports Jesse Sanchez for MLB.com. If that holds true, it eliminates the possibility of him as a power arm at the back of their bullpen, at least for the time being.
The Reds are looking to maximize their investment in the young Cuban, and want to give him every chance to develop into the ace he has the potential to become. Keeping him in the Cincinnati bullpen in 2010, while beneficial for the immediate needs of the big league club, would ultimately be detrimental to the development of their highest paid international signee.
