The Cleveland Indians have lost top prospect Carlos Santana for 8-10 weeks after the catcher had surgery to remove the broken hamate bone in his right hand, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Santana is expected to be ready in time for Spring Training, and should not cause him to miss any workouts or game action.
Santana is slated to open the season in Triple-A Columbus.
