Link: Padres' Tate Sidelined Before Career Begins

The career of Dovavan Tate, the third overall pick in this year's draft by the San Diego Padres, is being delayed before it begins due to abdominal pain, reports Bill Center of the San Diego Union-Tribune.  Tate had an abdominal strain off and on during his high school season, but Padres officials are also not ruling out the possibility of a hernia.  If surgery is required, it would interrupt the Padres' plans of working with Tate in the Arizona Instructional League.
