The Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed on a trade in which the White Sox receive relief pitcher Tony Pena and the Diamondbacks will get Triple-A 1B Brandon Allen in return. Baseball America breaks down the deal here.
Allen has regressed so far this season, but only from his monster 2008 season. Allen is still a power hitter with good upside, which seems like a pretty good return for the Diamondbacks who are giving up only a middle reliever during a lost season.
