• The New York Yankees have promoted switch-pitcher Pat Venditte to High-A Tampa in the Florida State League, reports the Associated Press.  Venditte has been a hot story because he pitches with both arms, but he has had success on the field as well, as he was leading the South Atlantic League in saves at the time of his promotion.
• Bill Center of the San Diego Union Tribune discusses the timetable of top pitching prospect Mat Latos with Grady Fuson, the San Diego Padres vice president of scouting and player development.  The Padres are very high on Latos, but don't want to rush him.
